Vex made reader love 'the old feel and the memory of characters'

I noticed Portland Daily Sun had a reader who was concerned that the content of Vex might be "below" the Daily Sun's character. I wanted to share that I had the opposite reaction to Vex. I was in fact greatly surprised and amused to find the new section in the Daily Sun when I was reading it today. I read through the comics, and loved the old feel and the memory of characters I hadn't see in a while. I think it's a fun way to engage your readership and bring back some classic grit. I think it's also a fun way to educate readers about figures in history (the Cary Grant cartoon) and about what's going on in town. (The Vex guide to events this week).

I commend the Daily Sun for choosing to put Vex in the publication. If anything, I think it will attract rather than deter readers. Keep it up! Your publication is great and I rely on it for all my local news - now I can rely on it for a laugh, too.
