Crash Barry wages class warfare with King diatribe

Editor,
Crash Barry's first diatribe made front page news in the Sun and it's on a usual topic: Angus King. This week's missive ("The King's new wheels," Crash Barry, Saturday, June 23) attempts to condemn Governor King for the abject sin of vehicle purchase outside the parameters Crash finds acceptable.
So, okay, Crash starts out by pledging not to wage class warfare then does just that as he takes the former governor to task for buying a diesel motor vehicle that happens to be manufactured by Mercedes.
What's worse, this shallow attempt to cast King as a one-percent pseudo-populist is marred by mistruth, innuendo and errors. Crash states, for example, that King deprived Maine of revenue by paying sales tax in either Pennsylvania or Ohio. Has he actually attempted to register a vehicle in Maine bought elsewhere? That's how it works.
Fundamentally, if Crash has a beef with King as a candidate for Senate it would be a lot more useful to voters if he examined issues of substance rather than continuing to advance vague, classist nonsense that roils the water but doesn't move the boat.
