Maine Heritage Policy Center names new director

The chief economist for the Maine Heritage Policy Center will now serve as the chief executive officer for the think tank.
The MHPC announced on Tuesday that J. Scott Moody has been named as the new CEO for the conservative center. Moody will take over for Lance Dutson, who left the MHPC to work on Secretary of State Charlie Summers' campaign for the U.S. Senate.
"We are delighted to have Scott, who has a strong policy background, to lead our organization. Scott has directed our studies in tax and regulatory policy for six years, and he has excelled in that role," said MHPC chairman Peter Anania, in a statement. "MHPC's board, our staff and our many supporters across the state look forward to working with him to advance our common interests in free markets and a free society."
