After Dec. incident, Gorham woman summonsed for false public alarm, report

A Gorham woman has been summonsed for false public alarm or report, after she reported that two men in a pickup truck assaulted and nearly abducted her while while she was walking in the area of Libby Avenue and Route 202, Gorham Police Det. Sgt. Dana Thompson reported.
Rachael Welsh, 22, of Gorham is scheduled to be arraigned at the Portland District Court on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 8:30 a.m.
The initial report came in on Dec. 23, 2012 at approximately 6:17 p.m., and she was transported to a local hospital where she was treated for a minor laceration and contusions and released, police said. No suspects were identified and the police are confident there is no threat to public safety regarding this case, a press release stated. Anyone with additional information about this investigation is asked to call Detective Brian Key at the Gorham Police Detective Unit at 222-1660.
