Waldoboro woman charged in shooting death of former boyfriend

Maine State Police arrested a Waldoboro woman on Wednesday afternoon and charged her with murder in connection with the shooting death of her former boyfriend last month.
Detectives arrested 25-year-old Arline Seavey, as she was being discharged with the Spring Harbor treatment center in Westbrook, Maine State Police reported. Seavey, who also goes by the name of Arline Lawless, was transported to the Cumberland County Jail.
Seavey is charged with shooting 34-year-old Norman Benner of Waldoboro, at the home she rented on Friendship Road in Waldoboro. Seavey suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the face and has been treated for that injury since July 23, when Benner's body was discovered by his relatives inside the home and Seavey was found wounded, police said.
Her first court appearance is expected later this week in Lincoln County Superior Court.
