Hubert Libby Jr., 51, of Gorham, and Richard Valliere, 35, of Windham, were arrested by the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office after the men were allegedly involved in a dispute at a Raymond garage that left a man hospitalized with serious injuries, according to police.
Valliere was charged with reckless conduct with a motor vehicle, and Libby was charged with misdemeanor assault.
Police say the incident is still under investigation.
During a dispute at the garage, Valliere allegedly struck one of the victims with a truck and ran over him before he and Libby fled the scene, according to police. The argument between Valliere, Libby and the victims is reportedly over an unpaid debt. One garage worker armed himself with a splitting maul, as it was believed that one of the suspects had a gun, the sheriff's office reported.
The victim, who was identified only as a 51-year-old Raymond man, remains hospitalized after suffering a broken leg and chest injuries during the incident, according to authorities.
