Resident in Rumford dies in house fire, fire marshal's office reports

One person is dead following a house fire in Rumford Tuesday afternoon, the State Fire Marshal's Office reported.
Firefighters responded to the home on Hillside Avenue about 2 p.m.  The house sustained heavy fire damage and the victim was discovered inside. Investigators say they believe the victim is the man who lives in the house, according to Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland.
A name was withheld pending notification of family.
