Man arrested for indecent conduct on Western Prom


On Wednesday, July 28 at approximately 7:30 a.m., Norman Dickinson, 42, was arrested on the Western Promenade for indecent conduct and refusing to submit for arrest or detention, after he was accused of pulling down his pants, Portland police reported.

Police were called to the park at the Western Promenade for a male who had been exposing himself by lowering his trousers and exposing his genitals, police said. The male was recognized as Norman Dickinson by police upon their arrival. Dickinson fled police and was later arrested at his residence, 109 Gilman St., according to a police press release. Dickinson is on probation for burglary. He is currently being held at the Cumberland County Jail.

Over the past few weeks the department has received a number of complaints of indecent exposure on the Western Promenade during the morning hours. The public is urged to contact the Portland Police Department at 874-8539 if they have any information regarding this activity.
