Whaddapita!, purveyor of Greek food at fast food prices, opened Sunday at its Portland location on the end of Fessenden Street. The restaurant, with outdoor seating, offers baklava, feta cheese pie, hummus dip, beef, pork, zucchini fritters and a host of other platters and sandwiches. "It's something just a little different for the area," said manager Pavlo Casvikes, noting that the restaurant is located in New York as well. "Our whole concept here is everything's fresh and homemade. Everything's to order, you get it fresh, but it's still fast food. We try to keep the prices low," he said. The restaurant also serves wine, beer and fountain drinks. Whaddapita! took its name from an exclamation, Casvikes said. "The name came from, just everytime we made pitas, everyone just loved them, they were like, 'Wow, what is this? What is that? Wow, this is really good.' It just became 'what a pita' everytime we made them."
